Signs of the Apocalypse...

So you know the feeling that NOW you've at last seen everything? And what a fleeting state that is.

Departing from the premises of Most Holy & Undivided on a recent late Saturday afternoon...I observed a wedding party, bride, groom, parents, attendants, the entire catastrophe, cheerfully having their wedding photos taken.

ON the premises of MH & U. Where they had NOT been married, and to which they were Complete and Total Strangers...

Could not figure out how to smite them hip and/or thigh with mildew and blasting as per the prophet -- without Spoiling the Poor Girl's Wedding, which one would rather not do... so drove away. Did not even drive over the bride's father's foot, which was in the driveway and therefore Fair Game.

but did you EVER?

well, we do have quite a lot of picturesque old brickwork...
and nice flowers in our garden...but still! Tacky, much?

That takes not just THE biscuit but an entire packet thereof...People are extraordinary. Perhaps, though, this could be a source of income...Rent our backdrop with no obligation to God...

Tacky is the word that came to my mind.

In Russia newlyweds dash about town having their picture taken in front of all the local landmarks.

My worst story is an acquaintance who got married on Holy and Great Saturday.

Oh, I hear you, Paul. I've had requests for Holy Saturday weddings, and great IRE when I say no. "Whyever not, it would be so convenient on the long holiday weekend...."

Yeah, that's really something. I would think that if that photographer ever shows up at MH&U to do a wedding there, that one might have a bit of a word with him...
